There is something so wonderful about Fall. I find the light is extra soft and the skies are extra blue. Maybe it is the cool nights and the 70 degree days. I love the crunching of the autumn leaves beneath my feet. The mountain where we live is brilliant and golden red as the leaves blaze goodbye! Truly I love this season!
The season invites different scents and flavors and today I am offering ideas for some fall dishes using your oils.
Sweet potatoes are one of my fall mainstays and cinnamon oil and butter or flax oil takes it to a new and wonderful place! Just wash and prepare the sweet potato and set your oven to 400 degrees. If your slicing it,baste your potato slices in olive oil and a drop of cinnamon. Bake until brown.
A whole potato can be baked for an hour at 375 and then open the skin and add butter or flax oil with a drop of cinnamon..it smells and tastes divine!
For your brownie recipe why not add a drop of peppermint oil into the mix.
Add a drop of Thieves to your baked apple or applesauce!
Cooking with oils brings some amazing scents and flavors to your kitchen! Experiment and let me know what you find works for you!
Enjoy this beautiful time of year and let’s remember to give thanks
